Beaded Art Dolls

Beads are my passion. I have them all over the house. Seedbeads, pressed beads, beads beads and beads.  A few years ago, I came across a picture of a beautiful beaded doll on the back cover of a Bead & Button Magazine. I'll have to dig out my magazine to give you the name of the artist.  She is wonderful.  I also saw some beautiful dolls made by Barb Mclean.  These dolls seemed to call to me, and before long, I picked up a muslin doll body, lots of beads, needles, thread and started my own doll.  I plan my color and theme of the doll ahead of time, then I let the doll tell me how it wants to be created. I feel a connection to each and every doll I make. A part of my soul is included with each doll.  It is very difficult for me to send them away to their new homes.  I have at least 20 doll designs in my head and note book.  Hopefully, I will get the time to make them all.

I lovingly make beaded art dolls and donate most of them to charity.  Two dolls that I worked on with other artists, have been in a popular beading magazine. See my about me page for specific information on my published items.  I have also donated the first in a series of dolls, to the Make a Wish Foundation.  She fetched a great auction/donation price for the foundation, and I will be designing the second doll in the series very soon.
